MOTEL 6 @ OVERLAND PARK KANSAS

Well, here I am at OP KS in a motel 6 for a couple of days.

I’m so cheap I don’t want to spend a couple of bucks for Internet access.

So, I’ll write in my journal and post to my blog when I get back to google Kansas.

The first day of being a professional trader went quite well.

MOTEL 6 YESSES/NOS

YESSES:

CHEAP
CLEAN
SHOWERS/BED
TV

NO:

NO BREAKFAST
NO MICROWAVE
NO SPA
NO WHIRLPOOL
NO CONDIMENTS IN ROOM


These are my observations. The cheapness far outweighs the “NO’s”


I’m just glad I brought my own coffee as they don’t make any coffee until 7:00 AM

OH .. NO FREE INTERNET.

We are starting on day two at online trading academy here in Overland Park KS.

Of course I lost trying to find the motel.


OH WELL


My second cup of warm coffee is awaiting my consumption.


Here are the questions presented to our class:

1) How much time can I devote to my trading:

I want to devote as little time as possible. Time is money. I can devote as much time as needed to become successful in my trading.

2) What time of day can I actually trade?

ANYTIME – (I’m retired)

3) What type of trading platform will I be using?

SWING

4) Do I have real time data feeds?

YES

5) How large of an account do I have?

10K

6) What is the reason that I’m trading?

To be able to cross off my bucket list as posted on the web.

ONLINE TRADING ACADEMY:

Day two of OTA was very interesting. I met up with my partner Vic Newsom and we had a good visit together.

We had spent some time last year attending an OPTIONETICS seminar in St. Louis MO.

Vic has driven to GOOGLE KS and we both brought our computers to the Topeka Public Library to learn from each other.

What’s so nice about trading is the freedom to do so. You are your own boss.

Now I need to get to work.

PROFESSIONAL TRADER PART ONE:

Yesterday was our first day at OTA (Online Trading Academy)

CLASS FORMAT:

- Trading Philosophy / psychology
- Market terminology
- Reading Market Data

Our instructor spent the whole day in lecture format.

We each introduced ourselves.

DAY 2:

- Overview of Technical Analysis
- Reversal Patterns
- Finding stocks to trade
- Trading Style
- Risk Management with LEVEL II
- Developing a Trading Plan

Tomorrow we get to start simulated trading.

I am looking forward to it.

GOOD MORNING!

Today will be our first day of simulated trading using OTA’s $$$. I’m still trying to figure that AD out. We’ll be using their computers. We’re not allowed to bring our own laptops into the classroom. That’s a good thing. I leave mine in my briefcase.

I guess I’d better take all my stuff out of this motel room as I’ll be heading to GOOGLE KS after class.

MOTEL 6 ROOM 104

Here I am again in the same room some five days later. It just doesn’t get any better than this.

The BIG game is going to be on in an hour or so.

Guess I’ll walk down to see what the Winston hamburger plan is all about.

Here’s my homework. (I feel like I’m back in college.)

ANALYZE PRICE ACTION

Look at the chart at the end of today’s slides and answer these questions:

. Can you spot anything significant?

- Chart Formations
- Candlesticks
- Indicators
- Volume

. What are your key Support and Resistance levels?
. Would you go long or Short Now?

- why?

I’ll study the chart from page 34 in our workbook.

GOOD MORNING J

Well, I’ve got my work cut out for me. Today is graduation day here at the online trading academy.

Now comes the fun part, putting what we’ve learned to good use.

All this trading will have to be done by using this laptop of which I am writing on as I write.

Does that make sense? It does to me.


I missed week five of the Dave Ramsey’s FPU but that’s OK as Sally & I are all ready lifetime members.

I recommend for anyone to at least take a look at the trading academy. They offer a four-hour FREE workshop to anyone who is interested.

Our instructor is named John Barrett.

Today we’re having a graduation ceremony, if you could call it that.

I might even say a few words -- who knows?

I’m so cheap I don’t even want to spend $2.99 to Motel 6 for Internet connectivity.

Guess I’ll TRY to finish reading this book about Andrew Jackson.
